Unlike other Regional Ethics Bowls, the M’ville Ethics Bowl aims to foster constructive intergenerational dialogue. In order to do so, it invites current Undergraduate Students to sit alongside accomplished academics and professionals, and recent graduates, on its panels of judges. All judges at the M’ville Ethics Bowl must also attend an orientation session in order to come to know each other and learn to work with each other. Orientations help the intergenerational panels of judges collaborate with each other in a climate of respect. The collegiality of the panels helps High School Students feel less pressured to impress and allows them to focus on the coherence and cogency of their arguments.
