
The Marshall Institute was founded in 2020 in order to prepare American youth to meet the unique challenges, issues, and concerns of today by preparing them to consider civic problems and respond to them with solutions that are at once rigorous and creative.
We aim to cultivate a community wherein thoughts can be clearly articulated, openly shared and discussed, wherein individuals are respected and can listen to others without prejudice or fear, wherein people can communicate, collaborate, and unify.
2016 was the Inaugural Regional High School Ethics Bowl at Manhattanville College. We started with six high schools in the New York Tri-State Area with roughly seventy high school students competing!
In 2021, year of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, we realized how crucial constructive dialogue is. Our one and only online High School Ethics Bowl saw roughly 100 high school students debate on a Zoom Call. At the 2023 High School Ethics Bowl, Manhattanville College hosted 250 high school students from Westchester County!
