Avenues: The World School Mini-Bowl

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2025, Avenues: The World School hosted a scrimmage match for teams competing in the New York City Ethics Bowl on February 7th, 2026. 

The Marshall Institute for Ethical Thought and Action sent its interns to judge at the scrimmage. They were eager for the opportunity to gain more experience judging and to engage in dialogue with the high school students. The high schools in attendance were Gregorio Luperon High School, Hunter College High School, Birch Wathen Lenox High School, Trinity School, and Avenues: The World School.

The day started with opening remarks from Avenues’ coach, Sarah Heard. Followed by the opening remarks, the first two matches were held. Lunch was provided by Gregorio Luperon High School. After lunch, the third and final match was held. The interns reported that this match was the most competitive and had the most fruitful dialogue. 

Following the completion of the final match, Ms. Heard delivered closing remarks and announced each school’s record for the day. We are grateful that Avenues: The World School hosted this event and invited our interns to take part in it. 

The interns were really impressed with the performance of every school in attendance. They are excited for the upcoming New York City Bowl at Fordham University. Join us on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2026.
